Seven years ago my husband and I purchased a grade II listed thatched timber framed cottage. We had no idea what we had let ourselves in for. However since then we have fallen in love with it and it has become part of us.
I have learned a great deal about old buildings including lime pointing walls and restoring parquet flooring. I now have a lot of time and respect for historical items and love anything salvaged, upcycled or restored. I am
always on the look out for the next old thing that I can save or restore.
I previously studied Art A levels and went on to study Art and Design at Chelsea school of Art in London. This love for fine art and painting has been with me ever since I can remember.
It was twenty years ago when I first discovered Annie sloan chalk paint and started painting furniture. Ever since then I have dreamed of having my own shop.
Twenty years later here I am finally fulfilling my dreams of running my own business - hand painting furniture, no shop though, yet. I started restoring and hand painting customers furniture 5 years ago and I can honestly say I really enjoy it. I love the challenges it brings and the results, but most of all I love the look of joy on my customers face when I produce their completed and restored furniture.
I work a lot on commissions and really appreciate that people trust me with items that are part of their family. I take great pride and care in getting them delivered back safely and restored to a high standard.
I have built my business up purely on recommendations and word of mouth. The service I provide my customers is personal, but professional. I still use Annie Sloan paints as my preferred choice, I also used Farrow and Ball and Autentico paint. I am happy to use your preference on request.
I also offer colour consultation and interior design advice this has been a life long passion of mine so if you like what you see feel free to contact me to arrange a consultation.
Please contact me if you need any help or advice.
